Robert K. Conklin Endowed Scholarship for Student Athletes

Apr 11, 2016 | Scholarships

“Essentially, the college student-athlete holds the equivalent of two jobs, so I have a great appreciation of what they do and how dedicated they are”

– Robert Conklin

“What I like about an endowment is that you are really investing in the future. I have an admiration for the student-athletes, coaches and support staff that make this work. To know that I have a small part in helping a young student-athlete succeed is gratifying.” Robert Conklin is a native Texan and the fourth-generation member of his family to graduate from The University of Texas. Robert holds a BA from the Plan II Honors Program, a BBA in marketing, and an MBA with an emphasis in finance.

He preceded a successful 30-year career as a financial consultant with a part-time job in the Texas Athletics ticket office as a student, which ignited a lifelong love for the Longhorns.”I have had season football tickets since graduating from the University 30 years ago, and I love my trips to Austin to cheer on the ‘Horns and socialize with my fellow Longhorns.” The Robert K. Conklin Endowed Scholarship for Student Athletes was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on April 11, 2016. With this gift his legacy is assured. As Robert intended, generations of students will have opportunities for a UT education thanks to his loyalty and generosity.
