Charles H. Spence, Sr. Centennial Professorship in Education

Dec 11, 1981 | Professorships

Charles H. Spence, Sr. was a Renaissance man in the truest sense of the term. At various times he was a public school teacher, a Presbyterian minister, a banker, and a business manager in towns across Texas. But foremost he was a devoted family man.

His four children were all graduates of The University of Texas and were firmly imbued with his love of God, family, and purpose. The Spence family, now four generations and counting, numbers 26 University of Texas alumni.
