Carol Corley Nelson Excellence Endowment in Human Ecology

Jun 29, 2007 | Excellence Funds & Program Support

The Carol Corley Nelson Excellence Endowment in Human Ecology was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on June 29, 2007, to benefit The University of Texas College of Natural Sciences. Gift funds were provided by Mrs. Carol C. Nelson.

Carol Corley Nelson grew up going to UT football games as a child. It is no surprise, then, that she ended up attending The University of Texas at Austin. Carol graduated with a BS in Home Economics in 1958.

She is an active alumna and strong advocate who helped lead the way in having the Department of Human Ecology become the School of Human Ecology in 2008. Carol created the Corley Nelson Excellence Endowment in Human Ecology to promote excellence in the Division of Textiles and Apparel. She wants her love for fabrics and sewing to live on through this endowed fund.
